"Big Eyes"

During my search for great films one night, I came across the film "Big Eyes", directed by Tim Burton and based upon a true story. In the story, a divorcee dreams to create a new life with her daughter by selling her paintings, the paintings are portraits mainly of children with huge eyes. She meets a male painter whom she falls in love with and marries shortly after, after a while he starts to take credit for her art and keeps her in a controlled environment where he forces her to paint what he wants so that he can become a successful artist.
Margaret Keane's story is very inspiring, as a woman in the art world she was put down and made to believe that only men could be successful. When she overruled her husband's control she realised that her life was her's to live.

I am inspired by her artwork because I feel that the eyes show you all the emotion of a person, they also show expression. In animation eye's are generally larger than they would be in reality, this is so that it is easier for the animator to show the expressions, and for the viewer to convey emotions from what they see.
